  • 2/10/09 - Scrapbooking Horses - We are looking forward to some dates for scrapbooking! We want to do one for our barn and what we did last year, so we're going to have a time to have each boarder and/or student and their parent to do facing 12 x 12 pages for our book. You supply your pictures and we'll supply everything else! Then we'll have it on display in the viewing room for all to enjoy! Then we'll have other dates to work on specific projects that you would like to do for yourselves, whether that's a horse book or one of your family, you're welcome to come and scrap with us! Call first for availability since we're doing it in my house. I've got almost a whole store in here of stuff to use. Cost $5.00 to cover supplies that you'll use out of my stock. Including papers, stickers, rubber stamps, creative memories cutters, embossing, brads and eyelets and much, much more! Oh, and I have a die cut machine and Silhouette machine as well!

All but two of our students came for the fun show we had lots of help from the parents and our boarders and friends. Special home made food was prepared and sold by Anita's Mom, Katherine, and if you didn't have a piece of pie... you just missed out on the best! (She's taking orders now for Thanksgiving!) Ed Reeves spent two days at the farm helping to prepare the viewing room with a new wall for the ribbons. It looked great! It will be nice to fill it all back up again!
  • 10/10/08 - We have it set!!! Our fun show shall be held on October 18th, 2008, at our farm. We will be having classes for all levels for our students and boarders. Please e-mail for a class list.
  • 9/23/08 - We are now thinking toward our Fun Show... I've been working on classes and logistics for them. I haven't set the date but it looks like it will be in October. Another event in the works will be a bonfire and potluck social. A fitting fun end to a great show season. Also our longest here and first boarder has purchased a place of her own and will be taking her horses home. Congratulations Kelly Nance and enjoy your new home Cowboy and Lucky! We'll be sad to see them go but that will allow us to take in two new faces, so if you're looking for a new place to call home, please contact us about boarding opportunities.
  • 8/24/08 Fencing is about complete now... we're so happy to announce that. We've got two really nice big fields so there can be large group (mare and geldings separated) turnout) as well as private grazing. We now have woven wire in the big fields and no-climb horse fencing in the smaller dry lots. Only thing left is to electrify the tops. I had rotator cuff surgery on the 20th, so that will happen  when I'm back up and working with two arms well! It's nice to see a herd out grazing though!
  • 8/7/08 Fences on the way down so they can be on the way up! Yep, it's finally going to happen... new fencing for the back paddocks and perimeter of the back field. We will be removing the existing "girls field" in the back because the whole thing will now be perimeter fenced and gated so we'll have a huge field for the horses to graze. Don't worry though, we'll still have our mowed paths, but they will be being grazed over too... less mowing, Great!
  • 7/22/08 Another blessing to add to our list... another new lesson horse, Chiraz has arrived from a long haul in from Michigan. "Raz" is a very cute 15yr old Anglo-Arab (that's an Arabian, Thoroughbred cross for those who don't know). She is a good natured mare that will be for the intermediate kids to start with. She has done Dressage and jumped in her previous careers. She was basically a one owner horse and will have an adjustment period before she starts work so we can "test" her in all those different situations that kids find themselves in!
  • 5/26/08 The barn enjoyed a fun time at the Mimaisburg Memorial Day Parade. We had three of the kids riding... Ella, Graham, and Lillian. We'd like to thank several of our wonderful supporters... Lillian's folks were our banner carriers... Miss Alison & Krista were super helpers with Krista driving Piper and Miss Alison helping lead Ella... Mr. John was a super side walker taking a hold of the horses as needed as well... and Miss Tammy brought her little boy (tongue in cheek there) Riley to walk with us... Fun was had by all, even Miss Rhonda as her girl wasn't being such a good girl! Thanks to all of you that support us... oh, and Miss Georgia Evans who embroidered our beautiful saddle pads (she came to watch her work walk down Main Street too)!
  • 5/1/08 We are basically full and are taking names if you are interested in boarding with us. I have a couple of training horses that will be going home soon, but until then, we'll have a list.
  • 41/08 Welcome back to one of our long time friends and almost one of the family... The Wilhelm's are back! They purchased a young Appaloosa mare from me a few years ago and I broke her out for them. They took her to a barn closer to them but have returned. We are very happy to welcome them back home!
  • 3/20/08 The Lord has been at work again!! He is wonderful and I cannot tell you that enough. We have been blessed to be receiving a new lesson horse, Delha (pronounced Della), a 23 yr old Arabian mare. She is well trained and has performance points in Western Pleasure Armature Owner and Youth 10 and under. She will be the newest addition to our lesson program. We also got along with her a 7 yr old Arabian gelding named Stormy! We are very excited to have them in our barn.
  • We have been updating our fencing!!! We have added two new dry lots and are changing the configuration of the dry lots we call "between"! These changes should allow us to better manage our grass fields and allow for better horse groupings. The weather has us stalled now, we've got posts layed out but it's either been too wet or frozen for us to get the posts in! Oh, for want of some dryer weather... but enough rain to keep us in grass for the summer... not too much to ask?!!!
  • Footing in has been added to the indoor arena and we have it completely reworked! The horses are showing us by their improved movement that it is a perfect mix of sand and wood chips for a nice lofty ride with lots of cushion!
  • We are in the process of setting up our show string for the coming year's Dayton Local Circuit. We will be enjoying the company of several new young riders for this year's show season and it should prove to be very exciting to watch them grow and learn! If you're interested in joining our team, please contact us for more information. We are making this affordable for those who desire to show and learn some valuable skills along the way! At this point we'd like to welcome Ella, Graham, Lillian, and Megan to the world of competition!
